Citygate

Between 2003 and 2006 Property Solutions developed and created Citygate. Citygate was a 3 stage mixed use development over 2 sites totalling approximately 2.7 ha located at the gateway to the Brisbane CBD being the intersection of Brunswick and Anne Streets, Fortitude Valley.

The development comprised over 30,000 square metres of bulky goods retail and 4,000 square metres of commercial office. This development revolutionised bulky good retail in Brisbane by producing innovative two-level retail solutions. The design and tenant mix allowed the previously exclusively single level bulky goods centres to successfully embrace the multi-level format.

As a major urban renewal project for Brisbane the architecture had to transform a previous bus and telco service depot into an attractive lively precinct that reflected its past industrial heritage. The form and materials used in the building were unique for such a mixed use centre.

The major tenants of Citygate are Harvey Norman, Domayne, Oz Design and Freedom Furniture as well as the Federal Bureau of Statistics. The UDIA State Awards in 2005 evidence the success of t his outstanding and innovative urban renewal project.
